paper, snow, and cake
I may have mentioned my addiction to cutting paper snowflakes. it's a little bit catching.
we filled this terracotta pot with the little ones, there are dozens and dozens hung above the circulation desk at work, and we taped a few in our front window.
I love how easy it is to take a bit of plain paper and chop it into something so unique.
we've been playing with real snow too.
this is Charlie. we built him very late one Saturday night in November, after it had snowed all afternoon. he didn't last long, sadly, but we did get a few wonderful pictures.
I made these cupcakes and covered them with frosting and crushed candy canes. they didn't last long either. the peppermint melted and turned all pink and strange, but they still tasted lovely. it's funny--usually I am not such a fan of mint flavoring, but in small doses and in conjunction with cupcakes... mm.

Holy cow...those snowflakes are awesome. I tried to make some with Ben, and they were all pretty much the same and pretty much super boring. You're amazing!
How glorious. I might try this at work next week (the snowflakes, not the snowman)
it is the best thing to do in a quiet, empty library. and it even sort of counts as work, if you use them to decorate. :)
You didn't want to post the pic of me eating Charlie? :)
Btw, I love your pic of the snowflakes on the window.
me, too--about the pics of the snowflakes on the window. When I first saw it I thought it was blue material with a snowflake pattern. Way pretty.
And charlie is so cute!
thanks guys. :) I didn't put any pictures of us with Charlie because... I just assume most people have a 'don't just go putting my picture on the internet' policy as default, you know. but I'll send them to you somehow, eventually, one way or another.
