isotope and the AWP Conference

in march the isotope editors will be taking their show on the road and visiting the annual awp (association for writers and writing programs) conference. a full list of exhibitors is here.

for said conference, they want a short sample booklet to give out, with excerpts from recent issues.
Kathe the design editor is busy teaching and working on issue 4.1, so she and Leslie the managing editor have given me full responsibility for the project.

last week i contacted the printer and asked about costs and options.

this week i've been developing a very basic design for the short four page booklet, fitting in the samples Chris wanted, tweaking the layout and colors and such. Kathe says it looks great so far, and after they all decide exactly what they want, i'll tweak it some more, cut things, nudge things, and then we'll send it off to be printed.

this is nothing next to the 40 page issues we put out twice a year, but nonetheless i'm glad to know the editors trust me with this, and i'm excited to see how my finished, printed project comes out.
