linguistic structures will be a low-key class. it is full of people i don't see in my other classes. the other english majors. non tech writing people: the lit majors, the teaching majors. it's weird.
but anyway, on thursday morning, we all sat there and listened to Professor McLaughlin recount stories about his recent trip to poland and hungary. this was mildly interesting to me because my mum has been to poland twice in the last year and plans to go again in the spring. i anticipate writing my final linguistics paper on polish... but we'll see how it goes.
the opportunity to explore and analyze the grammar of another language should be quite interesting. i've always been interested in english grammar. expanding that interest into a more general arena will be good, i think.
